Hi, This is part 7 of a series in which I am going to address some necessary steps we need to take to improve our life and create abundance. Some are well known and other less. Most of them are simple steps and yet most of us struggle to take them and to make them habits even though we know how important they are for improving ourselves and our lives. By following all of these steps we want, at the same time, to improve different life's areas and create a better overall balance. We must remember in fact that we are complex beings made of body, mind, and spirit and we must take care of all these aspects if we want to become our best version and create an abundant life. When I say "abundant life", I mean happiness, success, health, wealth and longevity. Yes, we can have it all! So, take the steps. Create the habits of doing them day in and day out. Little by little. Start by crawling, then walking, and finally running. Keep it simple. You don't need to master all the steps, tools and habits. Just apply them as simply as possible. Most of the time with minimum application, you can already receive most of the benefits. As science shows us in most cases being a master only benefits you a little bit more compared to someone that is an advanced beginner. That is why it is better to apply as many healthy positive simple steps, tools and habits as possible, rather than just mastering one or few. Furthermore, most of them are very well integrated with each other, and it is easy to apply most of them during your morning and evening routines. So keep it simple. Keep it short. Keep it small. Keep it constant and consistent. Of course, there are many things you can't control. Being aware also help you to understand and discern between what you can control and what you can't and therefore it helps you take the right action to improve or get the better from each situation. Being aware help you not to be at the mercy of situations, people or even your feelings and reactions. When your awareness level is very high you can lucidly see what is going on around and inside you and control the way you respond, choosing the most opportune words, thoughts or behaviors. You can see when you are getting in a bad mood or angry and you can easily take action not to let the situation deteriorate and ruin your day. How do we actually become aware? How do we practically increase our level of awareness? By practicing it. By practicing awareness and mindfulness. Both in the comfort of your home or on the go. Start by practicing mindfulness to increase presence and awareness in the comfort of a quite place. Just stop 5 minutes and breath. In and out. Watch it. Watch your thoughts come and go. Watch your 5 senses. Just feel through them. As simple as that. Little by little you will create the habits to observe and you will be able to do it anytime and anywhere. Once your awareness level starts raising you can try to practice "mindfulness-on-the-go". It is just a normal mindfulness exercise. You just do it anywhere, anytime. Make sure not to do it in potentially dangerous situations, of course. Other than that, just take the habit to stop 4-5 times during the day, in different types of situations and start breathing and observing what is going on inside and around you. Again it will help to create the skill and the habit to step back, observe and listen in any given situations. This will help you to see clearer. It will help you to keep calm in any situation. It will help you to stop, step back and go away from stressful unhealthy situations and mindsets instead of being stuck on them for a long time. Simple. Isn't it? Why aren't you working on increasing your awareness then? Take the right step and make the habits out of it! Change your life. Live better and longer! Is it hard creating and sticking to new habits?
